Neuroscience & EducationOne aspect of neuroscience that has a direct effect on education is the ability to give empirical evidence to theoretical perspectives on learning. For example, if we find that playing classical music while studying activates parts of the brain that are associated with long term memory processing, we may conclude that classical music is efficacious in consolidating material into enduring memories. The experimental rigor of cognitive neuroscience can add weight to policy and practice justifications. As we shall see, the results aren't always so easy to interpret, and the bridge between education and neuroscience is far from complete.
